I was asked to give a talk on “The Search for Electric Dipole Moments Using Octupole-Deformed Nuclei” @ the Workshop on Physics of Exotic Nuclei in Huizhou, Guandong, China. This is the first public talk I’ve given on our concept for a Protactinium-229 EDM search in the FRIB era. While in China, I also had a chance to visit my former boss Z.-T. Lu at USTC in Hefei and the Daya Bay Reactor Neutrino Experiment. Interesting discovery – they have Thorlabs lab snacks in China as well, but the snacks are different.
