Jake and Kristen Graduate!

Two Spinlab undergrads graduated over the weekend. Jake Huneau graduated with a B.S. in Physics from the Lyman-Briggs College and Kristen Parzuchowski graduates with a B.S. in Physics from the Honors College.

Jake joined the group in the Fall 2014 when Spinlab was just an empty room. He made two trips to Munich to work on the Xe-129 EDM experiment (HeXe) as well as helping out around the lab whenever necessary. Jake picked up Python very quickly and wrote a lot of code for us, which is all available on the Spinlab Github account. He has accepted a position as a Programming Engineer at Jacobs Engineering.

Kristen joined the group in the Fall of 2015 as a Director’s Research Scholar. She designed, procured, assembled, and tested every part of the original cryostat-based SAM setup including the atomic beamline and gas-handling apparatus. Kristen made several Yb atomic beam fluorescence, which we needed in order to calibrate the Yb fluoresence yield in solid Neon. She is soon headed to the University of Colorado, Boulder to start her graduate studies in Physics.

As graduation gifts, both received Hanabi, which the Official Card Game of Spinlab. We wish them the best! -JTS
